JOB PROFILE
JOB TITLE: Senior Human Resource Officer
DEPARTMENT: Human Resource
REPORTS TO: Human Resource Manager


Responsibilities:
Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful applicant will be required to:
 Assist in the development and delivery of HR services to WASCO;
 Undertake special HR projects as they are assigned;
 Update and develop drafts of job descriptions;
 Assist with the implementation of HR policies, practices and procedures;
 Ensure employee compliance with company policy and guidelines;
 Assist in compilation of job vacancy advertisements, screening of applicants and provision of administrative support for interviews;
 Prepare employment contracts, offer and appointment letters;
 Research HR issues which are required from time to time;
 Co-ordinate social activities and wellness programs;
 Assist with training and development initiatives; and
 Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


The Officer’s competencies and skills should include:
 Excellent interpersonal relations;
 Excellent communication skills;
 Sound judgment and decision-making ability;
 Good planning and organization skills;
 Knowledge of and ability to interpret relevant labour legislation;
 Knowledge of and ability to work in a unionized environment;
 Ability to recommend and implement effective HR procedures;
 Familiarity with the application of information technology to HR practices.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field. Applicants should also have specialized training in and working knowledge of IT applications for HR Administration, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Team Building, Customer Service, Employee Welfare Plans; plus a minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in a similar environment.
Remuneration:

 Salary shall be commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualification and experience.

JOB PROFILE
JOB TITLE: Senior Technician
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Senior Engineer
LOCATION: Southern Services


Position Objective:
To effectively monitor and control the raw and treated water conveyance and distribution system facilities and equipment.


Responsibilities:
 Operate electronic monitoring and control equipment, determine the needs of the various zones, reservoirs and flow rates in mains and pump stations and make appropriate operational adjustments;
 Monitor water systems for any unusual changes in flows, pressures, and reservoirs; analyze situations and take appropriate corrective actions;
 Respond to emergencies in a manner consistent with procedures to minimize disruption to water service and avoid damage to system components;
 Intercept, evaluate and respond to SCADA alarms;
 Communicate with other staff as appropriate; include treatment plant operators and maintenance personnel, regarding changes in pumping rates, valve position and diversions;
 Serves as dispatcher and maintain call out database; monitor security of reservoirs and other Utility facilities;
 Track equipment requiring testing and service and update Engineer in Charge on maintenance and repair activities.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Ability to effectively lead the Abstraction, Transmission and Distribution Crew personnel;
 Excellent written, oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
 Ability to build trust, credibility and effective working relationships with all levels of staff within the organization and with external stakeholders;
 Ability to multitask and prioritize with ease;
 Ability to effectively motivate and mobilize staff to achieve and produce required output;


Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum: - An Associate Degree in Construction Engineering or Diploma in Building Studies with two (2)
years relevant work experience.
Preferred Additional: - Certificate in Plumbing or Project Management.

JOB TITLE: Purchasing Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Finance/Accounts Unit
REPORTS TO: Senior Accountant


Position Objective:
To ensure that all WASCO’s purchases are done in compliance with budget, using the most efficient and effective procurement practices. To effectively source and manage procurement to ensure that goods and /or services are obtained at the best possible cost to meet the needs of the Company in terms of quality, quantity and timeliness.

Primary responsibilities:
The incumbent is required to perform the following functions among others:

 Source quotes and review prices and quality of goods to ensure that purchases for the Company are done at the optimum level considering logistics, pricing, quality etc.

 Draft, edit and review contract terms where required, and make recommendations to management as appropriate.

 Communicate and provide support to Department Managers in meeting their purchasing decisions and needs.

 Maintain an efficient recording and tracking system for all orders and meet reporting requirements.

 Plan, develop, implement and monitor the Company’s Custom Brokerage operation to ensure that our needs are met.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Proficiency in Microsoft suites application.

 Negotiating and marketing skills

 Strong interpersonal and organizational skills  Ability to be proactive and use initiative


Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors of Business Management/Administration with at least five (5) years relevant working experience in purchasing and customs brokerage.
OR
An Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Business Management/Administration with at least three (3) years relevant working experience in purchasing and customs procedures.
