WASCO's Legal Unit plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s operations by ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and governance standards. It serves as the principal advisor on legal matters, guiding the organization through complex legal issues and mitigating risks associated with regulatory obligations, contractual engagements, and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities include the management and resolution of legal claims, the development and implementation of new policies, and the provision of sound legal counsel in response to disputes or emerging legal challenges. The department also oversees the vetting, drafting, and finalization of contracts to ensure that all agreements are legally sound and aligned with WASCO’s strategic interests.

Additionally, the Legal Department fulfills the essential functions of the Company Secretary, supporting the Board of Directors and executive leadership with corporate governance duties, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting. Through its multifaceted role, the department ensures that WASCO operates with integrity, transparency, and legal accountability across all areas of its mandate.
